CuriosityTools is a free online calculator and educational tools platform designed to make everyday questions easier to explore, calculate, and understand. Our tools cover math, finance, investing, health, conversions, and other practical calculations, with an emphasis on clear results and useful explanations.
Our goal is simple:
Make useful calculations and complex information easier to understand—without pretending that every question has a simple or certain answer.
What CuriosityTools Does
CuriosityTools provides a growing collection of free calculators designed to help users solve practical problems and better understand the numbers behind them. The platform currently includes tools for math, personal finance, investing, health, conversions, and everyday calculations.
For investment-related questions, the CuriosityTools Stock Calculator goes further by combining publicly available company financial information with market data and valuation models to help users explore questions such as:
- What does the company’s current cash-flow profile look like?
- What might the business be worth under different assumptions?
- How does an estimated fair value compare with the current market price?
- What growth assumptions may be necessary to justify a particular valuation?
- How sensitive is an estimate to changes in growth, discount rates, and terminal assumptions?
Rather than presenting a single number as the “correct” value of a company, CuriosityTools is designed to show the assumptions and uncertainty behind valuation.
A Growing Library of Practical Tools
CuriosityTools is designed to grow beyond a single type of calculation. Current tools include general and percentage calculations, graphing, compound interest, loans and mortgages, tips, age and unit conversions, BMI, calorie estimates, and stock valuation.
Each calculator is designed around a specific question or task, with the goal of making the result easy to use and understand. As CuriosityTools grows, new calculators and educational tools may be added across these and other practical categories.
Our Approach to Fair Value
The CuriosityTools stock calculator currently uses a discounted cash flow (DCF) framework built around an owner-style cash-flow proxy derived from operating cash flow and reported capital expenditures.
The model can examine multiple valuation scenarios and sensitivity ranges so users can see how different assumptions affect estimated fair value.
When required financial information cannot be validated or when the current methodology is not appropriate for the available inputs, CuriosityTools may decline to produce a DCF estimate rather than manufacture a potentially misleading result.
Data and Validation
CuriosityTools uses publicly available financial information, including company filings submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), together with market-data sources used by the platform.
Financial reporting is complex. Companies may use different accounting classifications, reporting structures, XBRL tags, fiscal periods, and disclosure practices. CuriosityTools therefore applies normalization and validation procedures before allowing certain data to enter its valuation model.
Some companies or financial structures may not be fully supported by the current methodology.
What CuriosityTools Is Not
CuriosityTools is not an investment adviser, broker, financial planner, or securities research firm.
The platform does not tell users what securities to buy, sell, or hold.
Its calculations and explanations are provided for educational and informational purposes only.
Valuation is inherently uncertain. Two reasonable analysts can examine the same company and reach substantially different conclusions.
CuriosityTools is intended to help users understand those differences—not eliminate them.
Who Operates CuriosityTools
CuriosityTools is operated by Brightpath Media LLC.
The platform is part of a broader effort to build useful tools that make complex information easier to explore, question, and understand.
